Show Me Thomas Prescott Book 4 eBook Nick Pirog
Nothing is ever better than a new Nick Pirog book, especially a long awaited Thomas Prescott saga. "Show Me" was one of the best in the Prescott series thus far....the Missouri setting, the fabulous piglets (a lovely substitute for the endearing Baxter the Pug)...the underlying reemergence of Prescott from a funk and a weight gain, and a little bit of a love story too. Pirog always covers all his bases, awesome humor, great storylines, realistic characters, and so many other things that make a perfect book. I have been hooked on Nick Pirog's books since I stumbled across "Unforeseen" in 2011, and every time a new book comes out I have to force myself to read it slow, and enjoy every nuance that I have come to love in Pirog's writing style. His humor speaks to my dark side, and his plots are never, ever anything less than perfect, no matter how "out there" they might seem upon first glance. He always brings it all full circle nicely, with the perfect teaser for the next one at the end. I never like to summarize a book in a review, that takes some joy away from the reader. Instead, I just never tire of showering praise on Nick Pirog's books. He is truly one of my all time favorite authors, and his is always the first name that comes to mind when friends come to me for book recommendations. You just truly cannot go wrong with Nick Pirog if you are looking for a deeply entertaining, satisfying, beg for more type of read!!Product details

Show Me Thomas Prescott Book 4 eBook Nick Pirog Reviews
Because I read his back to back once I found his books, I had forgotten how TRULY ENJOYABLE HIS BOOKS ARE. I really enjoy his Thomas Prescott series. He is a realistic type man and not OVERLY FLAWED. It is curious why so many authors have their main characters be so ultimately flawed you usually end up hating them or going NO WAY THIS PERSON WOULD HAVE A JOB or a friend.
No so with Thomas. He is funny. I can not believe how many times I was cracking smiles to the point comments were made at bingo "must be a good book". I can never put them down once I start reading because it is so enjoyable.
You still have a murder, mystery, romance, but without horrible characters.
AND THIS ONE REALLY HAD TWISTS AND TURNS.
SPOILER ALERT...do not read below this until after you read the book AND YOU REALLY SHOULD READ THE BOOK.
BUT I DID NOT CARE FOR A COUPLE THINGS..
I found it unreal that he would do the hot air balloon jeopardizing someone he supposedly cared for. I felt it was thrown in for affect because the setting was not necessary, but needed that life-threatening part.
I did guess the ring leader too early, but that is me.
and I DID NOT LIKE THE END. His decision, nope, did not like it. NOT BECAUSE I AM 1 OF THOSE MUST HAVE HAPPY EVER AFTER, but because I am one of those that good things do not come along often and it made him seem more like a horn dog than I thought his character was..UNCLE OR NOT.
BUT I LOVE THIS AUTHOR.
I totally enjoy Thomas Prescott's sense of humor while delving into unsolved murders. At the end of the book Nick Pirog describes how he came up with the ideas for the book, which I appreciated. I continue to read too late into the night when reading books on either of Nick Pirog's characters. I don't want to stop reading. I almost wish I hadn't started to read his stories until he had 20 under his belt. I just can't wait for the next one to come out. The love shown for the little piglets was so heartwarming. The character is so real. I feel like I'm getting to know him BUT want more!
I've also read the stories on Henry Bin's character and love him too! Keep them both coming! We don't want Nick to get any sleep! I truly enjoy the sense of humor of both characters!!!!
I have just purchased a 1500 page book written in the Victorian era and rather difficult to read and understand right off (a few passages require a re-read to understand the terminology. I'm reading this just because my grandson said this was required reading for him at Virginia Commonwealth University and I thought it would be nice to read something he's read. So I'm chugging along and enjoying it, all the while waiting for Nice to produce more, more, more! I'm afraid if he publishes another before I finish the 1500 pages, the Victorian book will be waylaid promptly!
Thomas Prescott is a former detective with a wry wit. He finds humor in some of the situations we would normally not. Beyond that he is a smart, clever detective and he has the ability to wart out the criminals and get revenge for the persons they have harmed.
I in this story, Thomas is at his home and is contacted by a lawyer. He had been visiting his grandfather in a nearby nursing home and had not divulged to him that he was a grandson. The old man told stories of his past and Thomas had enjoyed everyone of them. The lawyer informed Thomas that he had been left a farm in Missouri, so off he goes to check it out.
When he arrives the farm is run down from being neglected for 10 years. As Thomas is looking around he finds a sow with two piglets in the loft of the barn! Later when the barn is burned down, the sow is killed and Thomas takes care of the piglets with the assistance of the pretty veterinarian.
Thomas discovers that a murder had occurred and he naturally has to look into it. The police and some others don't like the idea of that and people'
he has been able to talk to end up being murdered, also.
A nearby company that creates genetically modified grains seems to be involved and, of course, Thomas has to check them out.
As a reader who has received an advance copy to review in exchange for an honest review, I consider Mr. Pirog's writing to be entertaining and intriguing.
